Entry for June 25, 2007: What the puck

I’m a bit brain dead currently. There is no inspiration, no flame, no muse who will get me all hot and blurry, driven to bash out a few sentences.
I’ve been concentrating on work, and cutting up videos.
I finished a documentary coarse last week, and the main thing I learnt is that docos aren’t necessarily more truthful or any less of a story then a fictional piece
Enrolled in some night courses for next term. Tai Chi one night and learning the Tango later in the week.
The Tai Chi is to relax from the tension of looking like a dick while I’m learning to dance like some smooth Latin type.
I tried learning Tai Chi when I was younger to try to relax, but I found that I was getting uptight not getting the moves right the first time.
Maybe my current funk will put me in a better frame of mind.

Was cooking all weekend for some reason.
Cooked a roast chicken on Saturday, and I’ve been regularly picking at the carcass lying in the refrigerator.
On Sunday I downloaded a recipe for raspberry and ricotta muffins, and baked them while a large pot of ‘Dave’s special spaghetti sauce’ simmered on the stove top.
Washed dinner down with a glass of red, while watching the new Doctor Who.
Life could be worst I guess.

Tonight I’ve been wondering what to do with the left over taters that didn’t get baked with the chicken.
Might make a potato omelette and drink another glass of red.

I recently uploaded to Flickr some photos from my trip to Greece so I’ll dig up some fragments.

Aust v Urg

A couple of weeks back, I went to see Oz lose a soccer match to Uruguay (our sworn enemies as it was us that knocked them out of contention for the last World Cup.)

Pretty amazing the carnival that had been erected around the parameter of the stadium. All most medieval town surrounding a castle type vibe.
It’s amazing how much people drink (this includes myself) at a sporting event like this.

I’ve just finished a short ‘filming a documentary’ coarse and though this piece is a ‘home movie’ (this was my teachers opinion which is pretty valid) but I’ve been trying to put into practice what I’ve learnt in class. Especially in the audio.

Footy, Oz style

We’ve just had the Queens birthday long weekend.

This year Sydney celebrated by having either the worst storm in ten years, or the worst in thirty (depending on which paper you read.)
This is a video of some shots that I took over the weekend.
Note all the sand that was washed out of Coogee beach and into the surrounding countryside.
The big weather didn’t stop the water sports or the joggers ;-)

Stormy weather

And before you British types start, yes we know that you don’t celebrate the Queens birthday.
I highlight the words ‘long weekend.’
Liz is probably smiling to her self and thinking ‘cheeky buggers would celebrate the devils birthday if there was a holiday marking the occasion.’

I’ve dug the heater out for the first time this year.
Switched over to eating porridge for breakfast. Forgotten quantities AGAIN so made too much this morning.
Ears cold when I wake up in the morning.
Think I’m getting a cold.
Draft excluders have been stationed in front of all the doors.

OK, we're talking 'personal ads' here.
What does 'emotionally available' mean?

Entry for June 03, 2007: Grumpy Gutz

Bit grumpy today cause I was supposed to be going bush walking, but I slept in and missed the rendezvous time.
I didn’t get home till half twelve last night from the soccer game.
It was Australia v Uruguay and we lost 3/1.

There is probably a video coming next week.

To make up for not going on the walk, I wandered up along the beaches and back.

There is probably a video of that coming too.

Today’s video is of some visitors that I’ve had to the flat.

They are Corellas and Rosellas. I\u2019m not sure what Corellas eat, but Rosellas are partal to honey, which is what they are licking at.
Rosellas are usually in pairs, so I think they mate for life. Very cute when you catch them grooming each other.
