I stayed at the Novatel a couple of times - it's neither great nor interesting but it's on the Esplanade and just around the cnr from Ackland St
wish i could helpya but haven't been to that region of the world. yet.

All dep on how much you wanna pay, and what sorta experiences you wanna have. There's heaps of backpacker accom around Stkilda, including some really new-style ritzy ones.
