We’ve just had the Queens birthday long weekend.

This year Sydney celebrated by having either the worst storm in ten years, or the worst in thirty (depending on which paper you read.)
This is a video of some shots that I took over the weekend.
Note all the sand that was washed out of Coogee beach and into the surrounding countryside.
The big weather didn’t stop the water sports or the joggers ;-)

Stormy weather

And before you British types start, yes we know that you don’t celebrate the Queens birthday.
I highlight the words ‘long weekend.’
Liz is probably smiling to her self and thinking ‘cheeky buggers would celebrate the devils birthday if there was a holiday marking the occasion.’

I’ve dug the heater out for the first time this year.
Switched over to eating porridge for breakfast. Forgotten quantities AGAIN so made too much this morning.
Ears cold when I wake up in the morning.
Think I’m getting a cold.
Draft excluders have been stationed in front of all the doors.

Entry for March 18, 2007: It would seem that Sean and Gypsy have been dreaming.

I’ve been cutting up my new epic, so this is a quicky…

I had a dream during the huge thunderstorms that were sweeping the city a week back.
There was so much lighting slicing through the air, that I fell asleep at half twelve with blue light flashing behind my eyelids.

And I dreamed…
There was a girl in this dream and things were moving along to an interesting climax.
She was blond and round and happy. We were both naked and it looked like there was going to be a happy ending.
But as I was posed between her legs, just about to slide into her, something would interrupt us.
Some guy appeared that might have been her dad, There was this dog wondering around, Stuff like that.
One interruption was a little weird cause it occurred in real life.
I half awoke and got up to close the bedroom window as it had started to rain.

When I fell back into sleep, she was there waiting for me, but I don’t think there was a climax.
You know what it’s like when ‘the mood’ just evaporates?
I think there were too many interruptions to sustain the interest and the dream lover floated away.
I should have just let the carpet get a bit damp.

Entry for June 07, 2006: Water, water everywhere, / Nor any drop to drink

Rain eased off a bit today. Shame really, I like the sound of rain falling on things like the car roof, on windows, and bouncing off an umbrella.
There was so much water falling out of the sky last night when I drove home, that the car was cutting quite a decent bow wave.
Went to the movies and despite it being ‘cheap Tuesday,’ the cinema was almost empty.
Xmen 3
It was ok. I don’t think I would recommend it.
Interesting that they killed off half the previous cast.
I wonder if that was to build tension?
You can tell that each movie had a bigger special effects budget then the last.
There was a trailer for Superman Returns and that looks to be ‘properly crap!’
One tries not to think about all the thousands of litres that get funnelled straight out into the sea by the storm water drains.
